While Mariane Wheatley-Miller designed the planting for this project while working at EDR. This French chateaulike Inn and Spa are located in Skaneateles Village. The Finger Lakes are situated gracefully around the beautiful gardens and ponds, inspired by Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, France. Monet was an avid plant collector, ordering through catalogues, nurseries and friends. In this garden we created planting palettes that echo some of his collections; including, weeping willows and water lilies around the pond, a sampling of peonies, roses, and Irises, and as well as an assortment of colourful perennials.
