The existing planting consisted of typical ‘landscapers’ choice of odds and ends! We removed most of the planting just keeping some larger shrubs, but saving and relocating all the Peonies, Liatris, Shasta Daisy, Sedum, Lambs Ears and some Coneflower. We added perennials to extend the season display and regrouped other plants for a greater display.
We removed much of the existing planting due to either the repetition of the plant choice or the condition of the plants and widened the plant beds for a layering planting effect.
We selected a palette of the plants for a seasonally continuous display, variety in texture, colour and form.
The area we were asked to concentrate on is the entrance path and garage to the home behind the lake.
The owners had just purchased the home and the landscape had been neglected over time. We produced a site master plan and broke it down to phases. The first phase we worked on is planting along the pathway.
