We have just completed this project after three year years during covid. The planting is only few days old and we cannot wait until a couple of years when the planting begin to mature. The owners purchased this home and began major refurbishments. The exterior had been neglected for many years and all the existing walls, steps and plant beds were constructed by the previous home owner and not safe or attractive. Demolition was extensive to include the rear deck and replaced with an IPE timber deck with a separate screened in porch. The front and rear garden included many mature trees. Our new design has to work around the trees and level changes all to create a safe and attractive garden.
The front garden had a circular entrance and a private entrance to the garage. Visitors never approached the front door so we focused our design to make the entrance easier, safe and inviting. The driveway materials are both edges in granite Belgium block but the garage driveway was extended and paved in asphalt while the drop of circular entrance is a permeable gravel. beautiful woodland plants and trees have been added as well as LED lighting throughout and restored antique gas coach lights repurposed and added to the entrance pillars.
The existing gas lanterns were restored by ‘Brennan Stained Glass’ and added to our entrance pillar as well as to the entrance walls, antique glass and retrofitted led bulbs complete the look.
